1st Generation iPOD R.I.P.

Just kidding, it’s still alive! I think I’ve owned my ipod for around 5 or 6 years. After that long, the battery tends to wear down, and you don’t have the battery life that you used to. If I remember correctly, it used to get at least 10 hours per charge, but I want to say that it used to be more like 16 hours. I don’t remember. Lately it’s been like 3 hours. I decided to invest the 8.99 + 5.95 s&h for a new battery since I’ll probably need more than 3 hours worth of playtime on my 20 hour trip to Japan. Last night while I was talking to Aaron on the phone, I started ripping it apart and at one point I thought that I had ruined it, but I managed to replace the battery with messing anything else up. Hopefully it’ll last another 5 years.

  1. that’s pretty awesome. i have a 3rd gen ipod and the battery’s pretty rundown already. is it easy to take apart? i don’t want to drag it to apple and have those bastards charge me $60 to get that thing replaced.
